Ukrainian residents evacuated from Oleshky are traveling through Russia to reach their home country.
Davyd Arakhamiia, head of the Servant of the People parliamentary faction, confirmed that the Ukrainian delegation and the evacuated residents have departed for Anapa.
From the Russian coastal city, the group will fly to Belarus. They will then complete the journey to Ukraine by bus.
This specific route follows an agreement reached between Russian and Ukrainian officials. The office of Ukraine's Human Rights Commissioner, Dmytro Lubinets, explained that the transit path is designed to move people safely from the occupied territory.
The movement occurs under a temporary truce in the Oleshky area of Kherson Oblast. Lubinets announced that the ceasefire began at 03:00 Kyiv time on October 27. Russia's Defence Ministry confirmed that the cessation of hostilities was in effect.
Prime Minister Serhii Koretskyi stated that 527 residents are returning to Ukraine. He later clarified that the total number remains subject to change until the operation concludes. The White House previously announced that Melania Trump secured the ceasefire agreement in the city, which is experiencing a humanitarian crisis. The truce is set to expire at 22:59 on November 1.
