The New York City Police Department is seeking four masked individuals who ambushed an elderly couple at a bus stop in the Bronx on Monday. The suspects were riding motorcycles when they attacked the victims, who were waiting for their morning transit.
Emelia Sabah, the couple's daughter, said her 73-year-old father typically walks her 61-year-old mother to the stop on Gun Hill Road every weekday. The attack occurred shortly before 5 a.m. Sabah described the scene, noting that the riders struck her mother in the stomach and pointed a gun at her mouth. Two suspects beat her father with a gun while the other two assaulted her mother.
The thieves took the woman's purse, which contained a debit card, $100 in cash, and her daily medication. The suspects fled the scene on their motorcycles.
The victim, who works as a home attendant, has 11 grandchildren. Sabah said her mother is now too frightened to ride the bus alone. Sabah also criticized the suspects' age, suggesting they had the physical strength to earn their own money.
Detectives are currently searching for the four men. The NYPD has asked anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS or 1-888-57-PISTA for Spanish speakers. Tips can also be sent via the Crime Stoppers website or by direct message on X to @NYPDTips. All calls remain confidential.
